So much has happened over the last few months since I’ve updated this column.  We’ve had multiple races as I’ve been posting on Facebook with mixed results each weekend, some fantastic, some not so fantastic for the Life’s Good Racing!TM team.

Here’s a quick recap.  The August USTCC race at Thunderhill followed the usual script with Dave Brown using the Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart’s wicked AWD system to rocket to the lead and hold on to the lead for 80% of the race before a mechanical issue slowed the car, resulting in a mid-pack finish.

This pattern, unfortunately repeated itself, but resulting from a couple of different root causes, in the two subsequent races, first at Sonoma Raceway and then at Laguna Seca.  The result of these mechanicals has the Life’s Good Racing!TM team slipping in the season standings to 7th place with just one race weekend remaining at Sonoma Raceway (Sears Point) November 10 & 11.  These results in no way accurately reflect the dedication and hard work on the part of the team, and we will work through the winter to ensure they are resolved in order to produce the types of finishes we are used to achieving in next year’s season.

image003A high note over the last couple race weekend was experienced at Sonoma when we participated in the WTCC race weekend, rubbing shoulders with international racing stars piloting cars from such series as WTCC, Maserati Gran Tourismo and Auto GP.  We enjoyed  meeting the tens of thousands of fans who paraded through out pits and allowed many to take pictures of their friends and family members sitting inside our Lancer.  It was great to experience such enthusiasm and we look forward to next year’s event!

The Life’s Good Racing!TM 1969 Camaro running Time Trials Unlimited (TTU) has continued its streak of undefeated outings with just one competition date remaining, Sunday November 11.  In the process, not only have we set new track records, there have been days when Dave Brown has placed the Camaro on the top of ALL cars competing in all of the various Time Trial classifications, even cars in faster classes.  This performance has been achieved even with fields of upwards of 70 cars on a given day.  In spite of this the car has performed flawlessly, which is testimony to the team’s tireless efforts in achieving performance perfection.

image005We even had a great weekend with the Camaro at Laguna Seca where  I had the opportunity to race against a very exciting field in an ARC race and diced with a full race Ferrari 458 Challenge car.  See the video HERE.

As for the Camaro Stock Car, we have made significant progress and will be aggressively campaigning this beast next year.  Here’s a peak and how she looks dressed in the same image007clothes as her older sister

The great performance this season to date is not only attributed to the team, but also to the fantastic support we receive from our partners, including Hawk Performance, WORKS, Competition Clutch (CCI), Supertech, and AIP.   Had we not received such support, it is without a doubt that we would not have achieved the success we had this season to date.

With just one weekend remaining, I’ll sign out as I always do by encouraging you to come out and “hang” with us at the track at this last event in November.  As always….

See you at the races!
